In December 2007, I was having a discharge caused by infection in my right ear. Actually I am quite used to this because it has been happening repeatedly over the past few years. It is all due to an exceptional long term side effect when the second operation to put a T-tube inside my ear drum was done in 1998. This operation was necessary to restore my hearing which already dropped down to half because I was diagnosed with “otitis externa”.

I have visited so many ENT Specialists, both local and overseas, but none of them were able to cure my ear infection completely. At most, they will sucked the discharge from my ear and prescribed me with a list of antibiotics. All these was only a “temporary” solution as it only last for a short period of time. the infection will come again. It repeated almost every month. The discharge kept coming out uncontrollably, which is also very embarassing for me. Even doctors already give up and they said, "Don't worry, you won't die from it. You only will suffer a bit of inconvenience."

For the whole December, I just completely ignored the on-going infection in my ear because I already got so sick and frustruated of going to doctor, taking all the medicines that cannot cure my illness. I gave up.

Last week of December, after the Sunday Second Service, I gathered all my courage to approach Pastor Handoyo and asked him to pray for me. I told him my problem. And I also said that somebody told me that according to my Chinese birth date, I carried this illness since I was born and it will follow me for the rest of my life, sounds like a curse. As a Christian, I refused that in God's name. It is impossible that God will leave me with an incurable illness like this forever. We all know He has loved us and given Himself to us, enough to prove His lovingkindness is beyond everything. No doubt He only wants and will only gives the best to us. Pastor Handoyo told me not to worry because it's only a small problem, I definitely will recover. I have faith on what he said cause I believe that God used him to pass His messages to me.

In January 2008, I stopped over in Singapore and visited my regular ENT Specialists in Mt.Elizabeth Hospital. The first thing he did was to perform an endoscopy (as usual) to see how bad was the infection. I was so shocked and nearly cannot believe my own eyes, staring at the moniitor that shows the condition inside my ear. No discharge, no suction was needed, no infection, my ear is completely dry!! Logically, that's impossible! That second, I know God's miracle was happening upon me. Even the doctor was very surprised with the outcome. He said after all these years, my ear has never been so well and dry. For the first time, I left the hospital without buying any medicine. Ever since that, I have never suffered any infection discharge coming out from my ear anymore. Praise the Lord!

What I would like to emphasize here is that nothing is impossible. His miracle is so real. For Him, there is no illness that cannot be cured. We should come for Him with strong faith and whole heart. Ask, and you will be given. It's never too late to ask from Him. Thank you Lord! Amen.
